I'm joining in on a crazy (for me) blogging challenge for the month of September, called the Blog-tember Challenge! It's going to be FUN! Maybe kind of scary, at times... but mostly FUN! For more details, check out ⟶THIS POST⟵ from Bailey Jean's Brave Love Blog! I'll miss a few prompts here and there in order to keep up with my own series, but I plan on coming back to the missed prompts in October and November, because they're just too fun to pass up.
So, here we go!
Today's Prompt: What are you passionate about?
I have many passions. Maybe too many (hence the lack of a clear career path at the age of 31). Let's keep this general, though:
I of course am passionate about faith-inspired painting and lettering. Right now my preferred style is either lettering over watercolor, or clean black and white lettering, but I change my mind about everything so often when it comes to my process that I can't even say with confidence that I truly have a signature or a style of my own.
I'm passionate about time. I really enjoy (and require) alone time, and I try to carve out a bit of time each day to spend with some art supplies, a journal, a book, or just my thoughts. It doesn't really matter what I'm doing, really, as long as it's just me for a minute or two.
On that same note though, I'm also passionate about how I spend time with my family. I try to be intentional about being present when I'm with my husband and kids -- that means I'm not just in the room with them, but I'm involving myself and am interacting with them. I do a really good job of that with my kids, but I must admit that with all of the energy spent on them, after the kids are in bed, sometimes all I want to do is nothing. So I fail at being present when I'm alone with my husband occasionally, but, I gave up on winning the Wife of the Year Award a long time ago, and I'm blessed to have a husband that forgives easily.
Lastly, but not leastly (that's a word, you know), I'm passionate about The Kingdom. Theology, apologetics, denominations, gift-focused churches versus Word-focused churches... you know, I have my heart and gut feelings about things -- God and I have regular conversations about ALL THE THINGS -- but when it comes down to it, I just want God to be glorified in everything I say and do. I just want to further His Kingdom, really. That's what I'm here for -- here in this corner of the internet, here in Vienna, and here in this world -- I'm here for The Kingdom.
I want God to be glorified in everything I say and do. I'm here for The Kingdom.
