Note: The giveaway has ended, but the gift guide is still GREAT!
You guys, this is so exciting! Everyone loves a good gift guide, and THIS IS A GOOD GIFT GUIDE.
Most of what I've chosen here are handmade items from small shops, because who doesn't love supporting small shops? Also though, to celebrate the recent launch of my very own small shop, I reached out to each and every company featured in this guide and each and every one of them agreed to contribute to...
But wait. Let's get acquainted with some of this beautiful stuff, first... by which of course I mean some of the most amazing gift ideas for either yourself (because let's be honest – you have to treat yourself every once in a while) or for the people on your Nice List.
THE GIFT GUIDE
For Head and Heart
This particular journaling bible has been on my wish list ever since I laid eyes on it. I love the single-column journaling bibles because there's just enough space to keep quick, simple notes – frilly or not! – but the pages are still thick enough to allow for you to go wild and paint all over the place if you want to. And just look at that leather wrap! You can find this bible at DaySpring.com.
The newest kit is on its way to me as I type, and I cannot wait to see it in person! The monthly Illustrated Faith devotional kits from DaySpring are always so beautiful, and GUESS WHAT: you don't have to have a journaling bible to appreciate the goodness of these kits; the study and supplies are built in! Just grab yourself a decent pen and you're good to go. Pure gold.
I feel like these photos say so much more than my words ever could. It's no secret that the inkDori from Grace & Salt ink have my heart. But if you prefer words, click here to read about how the inkDori simplifies my life, and click here to read an interview I did for Grace & Salt ink on why I love these babies so much, and how I use the three I have. Seriously – you, your mom, your aunts and uncles, and the guy who lives two houses down ALL NEED AT LEAST ONE OF THESE NOTEBOOKS IN YOUR LIFE
The printable journals from my new B&W Collection are so much fun! There are four choices of hand lettered journal covers, and five different template choices for the pages inside – choose between lined pages for notes and a few different undated calendar layouts. OR you can go crazy and just put blank pages inside! There are 13cm and 11cm journals, which will fit in wide traveler's notebooks or classic TN notebooks, respectively, if you want to keep them all in one place. Oh and, can you say "blank slate"? These journals are perfect for those people who love to customize their planners and notebooks!
Bible Journaling Pens & Washi Stickers
Sometimes less is more; sometimes all you really need is a good pen and some cute washi tape.
These precision pens from Illustrated Faith are not only perfect on bible journaling pages, but they're really just great for everything (even for signing the stupid-slippery backs of credit cards). They write so smoothly, and the tips stay intact even under pressure. I haven't experienced any bleed-through with these pens, and the "ghosting" on the back of most pages is minimal. They're like magic, and are great for bible journalers, note takers, or for ANY PERSON WHO EVER USES A PEN.
Raise your hand if you love washi tape! Yes, that's all of us. These washi tape stickers from Illustrated Faith are so cool, because they're already cut into strips, and you get multiple designs in one pack. Washi tape is obviously great for bible journaling, but its also makes life prettier in a planner, notebook, and even for displaying prints on a gallery wall!
For Heart and Home
I instantly fell in love with this chevron necklace when I saw it in DaySpring's shop. It's a beautiful necklace, front and back! Yes, that's right – front and back. The back is engraved with "Be Strong and Courageous," referencing Joshua 1:9, making the necklace not only beautiful but also a lovely, wearable reminder. Plus the necklace is 100% lead-free, and is plated with rose and yellow gold. Tell me what's not to love.
This trinket dish caught my eye, as well. (Apparently I'm a sucker for gold lately.) It's got a great reminder inside – You are valuable! – and is the perfect dish for keeping jewelry, pins, paperclips, or maybe even a tiny succulent! The outside of the dish is gold, and is engraved with "You are precious to me and honored, and I love you. Isaiah 43:4 TLB." This dish is by far a favorite decoration of mine!
Look! More gold! This metallic gold star garland is so cute! Of course it would make a perfect Christmas Tree accessory, but it could also be used over a doorway, a gallery wall, a window, or even – as you can see below – over an entertainment center! And for the photographers out there, this garland actually makes a really great prop. Just sayin'.
The prints from my new B&W Collection make perfect additions to any gallery wall, shelf, or workspace. They can be trimmed down to fit into most frames, and can also be printed to fit into planners and journals! Each piece is hand lettered and designed by yours truly, and they're great for sharing encouraging words or for adding a little POP to any space!
Forget mugs! Tea bowls are what we all need more of in our lives! These tea bowls from Studio Doki Dokii are handcrafted (with love) and are absolutely beautiful. They come in a variety of colors and designs (custom orders are accepted, too!), and seriously – I cannot take my eyes off of them. Go ahead and treat yourself and your friends to something a little more unique than the latest mainstream coffee shop mug! (Wink, wink.)
Can we just take a second to rejoice in the fact that pins are making a comeback? Or maybe they never went anywhere and I just wasn't cool enough to realize it. Either way, they're here, they're adorable, and these enamel pins from Diglot etc are some of the cutest out there! These pins add a brilliant pop of color, and have lovely little reminders on them like "REAL not perfect" and "you are enough." There are also some pretty adorable cat and paw print pins available that I've got my eye on for the cat lovers in my life!
Embroidered hoops have also made a comeback and I hope beyond hope that they stick around for a very long time! By George makes such fun, happy hoops, each sprinkled with colorful confetti. Custom orders are accepted here too, and I'm happy to say that my very own custom hoop arrived recently and I am head over heels in love with it! These make perfect accessories for any wall or workspace and are sure to brighten anyone's day. Even the scroogiest of Scrooges would have to smile at these cuties!
Speaking of embroidery, have you ever seen anything as unique or beautiful as an embroidered necklace? Woven Whale Studio has really, really pretty embroidered necklaces, and I think it's obvious how great of a gift one would make for absolutely any lovely lady! You can also place custom orders, making something already so brilliant even more special.
Clearly I love hand lettering. Give me allthehandlettering on allthethings and I'll be a happy camper. One of the best things about hand lettering is how unique the skill really is – everyone has their own style – and the lettering by This Unscripted Life is some of the most remarkable I've seen! Her collection of prints and cards are so beautiful and so inspiring. They'll make fantastic gifts, of course, and you'll want to keep a couple of pieces for yourself, too!
Okay, WOW. Take a look at this hexagon necklace from Dear Mushka, and tell me you're not in love. I'll wait.
Can't do it, can you? No. You can't. Because this necklace has stolen your heart. Bye.
Seriously, though. This is a thing of beauty. It's sweet and simple, and oh, so elegant. And what makes it even better is that the heart behind each piece in this shop is just as beautiful as the pieces themselves. Dear Mushka says this is an "on-trend necklace for anyone in need of a little simplification, a little shine, a little guidance," and I couldn't have said it better myself. Don't we all fit that description?
This is one of the most brilliant ways to literally wear encouragement and to keep little inspirational reminders on you throughout the day! These temporary tattoos from Soul Stamps are just like the temporary tattoos we wore as kids, but they're sweeter, simpler, and a bit more inspiring. With categories such as Affirmations, Recovery, and Faith, you're sure to find some way to inspire either yourself or someone you love with these fun accessories.
