Well, fancy meeting you here!
Yeah, I kind of fell off of the face of the earth there for awhile, and have been struggling to get back on track with LIFE IN GENERAL. I'm sure you know the feeling and have been there before, so I won't whine or complain too much, and in fact will just stop right here about the whole thing.
I still have two (yes, only two!) Daily Happiness Series questions for everyone before I move on to a new series (besides this new Currently Wednesdays series), and will soon start sharing some more of my Doodling Through the Word posts again; just sit tight!
For now, let me update you on a couple of things:
So let me quickly take you through a few things, just so you know that I really am still alive and that I really do not intend to abandon you.
Currently, I am:
Adjusting back into our routine, if you can call it that. My husband is back at work after a week off, my first-grader is back at school after a long weekend, and my ONE YEAR-OLD (omg he's one now) is trying to adjust back into a normal nap-time routine, which means I'm trying to adjust back into a normal work-time routine.
Anticipating the many adventures and lessons I'll experience through my Illustrated Faith journey. Illustrating my faith is something I've been doing for about... a year... maybe a bit more, and I've already taken so much from it, in every aspect. I'm beyond excited to see what more God will do over the next six months!
Buying Christmas presents! Yes, I'm one of those. I don't really do a whole lot of decorating, and when I do it doesn't usually happen until December 1st, but for as long as I can remember, I've always made it my goal to have all of my Christmas shopping done before Thanksgiving. I know I'm missing all the sales -- sorry -- but I just can't stand how busy all of the stores are in December, so I just try to avoid them altogether.
Cooking more often and differently than usual! Something came over me after I did the Billion Dinners Challenge last month, and I've been more motivated, or interested, I guess, in cooking some things. You know, like real food. Also, we're trying to eat healthier, so the menu has changed a bit at home. It's been fun, I'm getting more comfortable around the kitchen, and I think I'm actually going to put some decent pots and pans on my Christmas list! (This whole paragraph is actually insanity, and you should be concerned. Tawni is cooking, and Tawni is enjoying cooking. Someone call someone.)
Organizing, or something. After my parents' visit, I decided that my goal for next year (yes, I'm already setting a goal for next year) is to organize the entire apartment, room-by-room, starting with the living room. Apartment life is a tricky life when you've got loads and loads of art supplies, two wily boys (one who's learning to walk), and no room to even hang your laundry (nope, no dryers here). We do okay, and people say the place is organized, but they're probably just being nice. I need a shelf here, a rack there, a hook here, and a tray there, and it all starts on January 1st. So I guess I'm starting to plan to organize. Seriously. My head is full of images of what is to come.
Scheduling blog posts! As I said before, there are posts on their way, not the least of which are The heART Series posts, I just need to find the time to sit down and write, write, write! I'll also be sharing on the Illustrated Faith blog, so you should go give them a follow!
Working through the Wow, God devotional notebook, in which there is a prompt for each day of November for me to consider what I'm grateful for. It's a fun one, and it's great to take a few minutes each day to be really intentional about gratitude.
I guess that's enough; you may now consider yourself sufficiently updated!
